2019 Resolution Goals – “Get My Act Together”
Do your resolutions for 2019 include getting your act together when it comes to the preservation of your personal, financial, and family assets and legacies?
Are you recently married, have children, or have other important changes to your personal or financial situation? Do you have life insurance, retirement assets or other benefits that would come into play in the event of your death or disability?
If so, there is no better time than the present to take action to protect your assets and your loved ones! After all, many things can be planned in advance that cannot be planned after the unfortunate event happens. What measures are available to protect your loved ones in the event of a disaster?
It is often difficult to plan for the worst possible event – death or incapacity. Our tendency is to avoid addressing it altogether. It can be painful to think about and confusing. However, if you don’t, who will?
You run the risk of having someone unknown to you handling all of your important affairs, for which your dependents rely on. For example, a complete stranger, a court appointed guardian or other disinterested person? You should not leave that to the court or State laws. You can plan this yourself, with great details and results, if you consider it all in advance.
If your goals for 2019 include taking the necessary steps to “Get Your Act Together,” now is the time to take action! And Zellar & Zellar Attorneys at Law, Inc., can help!
Who will manage your affairs in the event of your sudden death or disability? Who will be custodian of your children who are minors? Who will insure your children are raised the way you want them to be? Who will ensure that your values and priorities are carried out? What will happen to your spouse, your children, or your assets if you become ill, or disabled?
Having these decisions mapped out know will not only bring you peace of mind, but will ensure the safety and security of your personal wealth and family for the future.
It is easy to form the necessary succession plan to ensure you and your family are well cared for in the event of a sudden illness or disability, or even your death. Do you have benefits from life insurance and retirement? Or a house? Do you have a plan that will control what will happen then? What will happen to your children? Would you want your 18-year-old child to inherit $1,000,000 of life insurance?
